This thorough analysis identifies drug-drug, drug-condition, drug-age and drug-dose interactions, poly-pharmacy situations and FDA warning / withdrawal advisories to improve medication safety. It also identifies situations when an individual is taking a prescription drug that may reduce the effectiveness of another, or when an individual has failed to refill a prescription for an important maintenance medication.

RxSafety Alerts help reduce serious drug interactions

When a potentially dangerous interaction is detected by our Drug Safety Scan, we send an electronic RxSafety Alert to the health care professional of the health plan or pharmacy benefit management company. This health care professional contacts the provider or pharmacist caring for the patient to advise them of the potential problem associated with use of the drug. This actionable information helps the provider correct, adjust or discontinue the medication on a timely basis.
